Thirty years of Creative Development

Foundation

Department Established

The Graphic Design Department was established within Takoradi Polytechnic, laying the foundations for design education in the Western Region of Ghana.

 
Early Years

HND Programme Introduced

The Higher National Diploma in Commercial Art — Graphic Design Option was introduced, providing the first structured pathway for aspiring graphic designers.

 
Growth

Studio Practice Expands

The department invested in studio facilities and expanded its curriculum to reflect evolving industry practices in print and visual communication.

 
Digital Transition

Digital Design Integrated

Takoradi Technical University

Takoradi Polytechnic was elevated to Takoradi Technical University status, expanding academic scope and enabling B.Tech and postgraduate degree offerings.
